About the Artist

Reginald Coleman was born in Monroe La., then moved to Orangeburg, SC at the age of 3. He was always drawing on any and everything he could find. Drawing and sketching was and still is Reggie’s favorite art style and his form of therapy, peacefulness and mindfulness. Oil painting is his continued challenge through his art journey, as he learns and experiments with styles and techniques.

Most of Reggie’s artistic foundation was harnessed in high school with the help of two artist and teachers, Alvin and Bretta Staley.  Through their guidance, he was introduced to oil paints and many other art forms. In high school they entered him in the scholastics art competitions, where he won numerous art awards. He studied art at Newberry College in Newberry, SC. There, with the guidance of Bruce Neilsmith, he was able to attend a semester in Cortona, Italy, through the University of Georgia. In Italy, he learned more about color and composition through his instructors and classmates. Reggie further developed as an artist after college while living and working in Baton Rouge, La. He then moved to New Smyrna Beach, FL with his wife Leslie. While working, he continued his art and ventured into other forms of art.

Reggie’s art journey continued in the New Smyrna, Edgewater area. He learned about epoxy-resin art and its many avenues. He hand-builds coffee and end tables as well as refinishing counter tops. Reggie is continuing to explore the many realms of the epoxy world. More creations to come, stay tuned.

For Reggie the digital world has always been fascinating. He is exploring the world of NTFs (nonfungibile tokens) with digital art. Most of his creations are his own art work enhanced with the power of digital media.
